What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired infallible Word of God, completely trustworthy in every detail (Matthew 5:18) as our final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 2:20-21).

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Isaiah 45:5; 2 Cornthians 13:14).

We believe in the deity and perfect humanity of Christ (Hebrews 1:8; Hebrews 4:15; I John 5:20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Philippians 2:6-11); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthews 1:23; Luke 1:35); His shed blood for redemption and forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14); His bodily resurrection (Luke 24:39-40); His ascension (Acts 1:11); and His personal return to establish His kingdom on earth (Daniel 2:44 and Revelation 19:11-16).

We believe that man was created by God in His image, which includes knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness (Genesis 1:27; Colossians 3:10; Ephesians 4:23-24); But as a result of Satan's work and the entrance of sin into the world, all men who are apart from Christ are sinful, blinded and lost (Genesis 3; Romans 3:10-12,23; 2 Corinthians 4:4) and without God's grace applied are destined to an eternity in hell, a place of conscious punishment reserved for Satan, fallen angels (Revelation 20:10-15), and any whose name is not written in the Book of Life (Jude 13).

We believe that the Holy Spirit convinces and convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, makes believers children of God through the new birth, joins them to the body of Christ (the church), assures them of heaven, guides them into truth and by His indwelling enables=2 0Christians to live a Godly life (John 16:7-13; 1 Corinthians 12:3; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Galatians 5:22, 25; Romans 8:14,16).

We believe that God has extended His grace to man in offering salvation; that men are justified on the single basis of grace through faith in Jesus Christ who shed His blood, bore our sin, and paid the penalty for it (Acts 13:38-39; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:4-6; Hebrews 9:22, Romans 5:9). God grants eternal life to those who trust Jesus Christ (John 3:15; Romans 6:23).

We believe that all who are in Christ have been baptized into His death and that the former self has been crucified with Christ (Romans 6:3, 6; Galatians 2:20). As new creatures in Christ, all believers (2 Corinthians 5:17) need to consider themselves dead to sin, but alive to God and need to present themselves to God as those alive from the dead and their members as instruments of righteousness to God (Romans 6:11,13).

We believe that a local New Testament church is, a body of baptized believers, which governs itself under God's direction, rather than being ruled by an outside entity, as it fulfills the Great Commission. (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20).

As believers, we observe baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism by immersion is a step of obedience symbolizing the new birth and showing a believer's identification with Jesus Christ. (Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5). The Lord's Supper is to be shared by obedient believers who partake with a clean conscience and reverence. It symbolizes Christ's body and shed blood in His complete sacrifice to provide the basis for man's salvation (1 Corinthians 11:23-33).

We believe that civil government is of divine appointment and for the interest and good order of human society. We uphold the separation of church and state. Governmental leaders are to be prayed for, honored, and obeyed, except when their directives conflict with clear biblical principles (Acts 5:29; Romans 13:1-8; 1 Timothy 2:1-2).
